A medium-dark roast dissolves faster and turns bitter if you push it. Robusta dissolves faster than arabica and gets bitter sooner.

Robusta dissolves faster than arabica and gets bitter sooner. A Natural coffee gives its fruit up early and its ferment late.

This recipe uses 30 g. Prices per cup are worked out at 15 g for every coffee, so they compare.

  1. Add the coffee and all the water at once.
  2. Leave it four minutes, then break the crust with a spoon.
  3. Lift the foam off the top.
  4. Press the plunger down slowly and pour it all out.

It is ground for this brewer already. If it runs through too fast, use a little more coffee rather than reaching for a finer grind.

80:20 coffee and chicory. It brews darker and faster than coffee alone, so pull it a touch short.

Roasted 6 days ago, which is about as good as it gets.
