Cold Brew: how to brew it
Cold Brew Maker
Extra coarse
Tuned for Regular Blend - South Indian Filter Coffee, 80:20, Medium-Dark.
- Coffee
- 100 g
- Water
- 1000 ml about 4¼ cups
- Brew time
- 12 hours Robusta dissolves faster than arabica and gets bitter sooner. A Natural coffee gives its fruit up early and its ferment late.
That is a ratio of 1:10, if you would rather scale it.
- Stir the coffee into cold water until none of it is floating dry.
- Cover it and leave it in the fridge overnight.
- Strain it through a paper filter.
- Dilute it about half and half before drinking.
- It is ground for this brewer already. If it runs through too fast, use a little more coffee rather than reaching for a finer grind.
- Cold brew uses water straight from the tap. Nothing is heated.
- 80:20 coffee and chicory. It brews darker and faster than coffee alone, so pull it a touch short.
- Robusta is what a South Indian filter is built on. It carries the body and the kick, and it is meant to taste like this.
- Roasted 6 days ago, which is about as good as it gets.
Ground extra coarse for this brewer before it was bagged.
